This is an original French grande movie poster from 1960 for The Alamo starring John Wayne, Richard Widmark, Laurence Harvey, Frankie Avalon, Linda Cristal, Chill Wills and Richard Boone. John Wayne also directed the western film. Roger Soubie is the artist for the poster.This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1960 to promote the French theatrical release of The Alamo, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
The one-panel poster measures 46.75" x 62" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in very good condition prior to linen-backing with minor fold wear. Like all French grande posters from the period, it was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing.Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares on the edges of the poster are magnets and are not any defect or part of the poster.
