  • Film: Each Dawn I Die (1939)
Year poster printed: 1945 (first theatrical release in France)
    Country: France
Size (inches): 46" x 61.25" (plus small linen border)
    Artist: Roger Jacquier

This is an original French grande movie poster from 1945 for Each Dawn I Die starring James Cagney, George Raft, George Bancroft, Jane Bryan, Maxie 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom and Victor Jory. William Keighley directed the crime thriller based on a novel by Jerome Odlum. Roger Jacquier is the artist for the poster. Original French movie posters from the early to mid 1940s are extremely rare due to paper shortages during, and shortly after, World War II.

This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1945 to promote the French theatrical release of Each Dawn I Die, is not a reproduction or a reprint.

The one-panel poster measures 46" x 61.25" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in good condition prior to linen-backing with fold wear, edge wear and surface creasing. Like all French grande posters from the period, it was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing.

Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares on the edges of the poster are magnets and are not any defect or part of the poster.
