This is an original, French 4 panel movie poster from 1969 for a theatrical re-release of The Longest Day starring John Wayne, Richard Burton, Red Buttons, Sean Connery, Fabian, Mel Ferrer, Henry Fonda, Roddy McDowall, Robert Mitchum, George Segal and Rod Steiger. Ken Annakin and Andrew Marton directed the classic World War II film. The movie was initially released in 1962 and was theatrically re-released in 1969 for the 25th anniversary of D-Day (as noted on the poster). Boris Grinsson is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 91" x 123" (about 7.5 feet high and 10 feet wide) and was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. It is in very good to excellent condition with a few areas of minor edge and fold wear. The poster was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small, black squares in the corners and edges of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This very rare and collectible poster, printed in 1969 to promote a theatrical re-release of The Longest Day, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
