This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1970 for Gimme Shelter. The infamous Altamont concert documentary features The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Ike and Tina Turner, The Grateful Dead, and Dick Carter. Charlotte Zwerin, Albert Maysles, and David Maysles directed the film.
The film had a limited release in December 1970 and opened in more theaters in early 1971. There were two styles of one-sheets printed for the film: one in color and one in black and white. This very rare, black and white poster measures 27" x 41” and is in very good condition with minimal creasing and fold wear. There is a pinhole separation at the bottom-right cross-fold. The poster was folded an extra time and has an extra pair pf vertical and horizontal fold lines. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you will receive). It is not cropped or a stock image.
This very rare and collectible poster, printed in 1970 to promote the theatrical release of Gimme Shelter, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
