This is an original, rolled, forty by sixty movie poster from 1977 for a theatrical re-release of Papillon starring Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman, Victor Jory, Don Gordon, and Anthony Zerbe. Franklin J. Schaffner directed the prison escape drama based on a novel by Henri Charriere. Richard Amsel is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 40” x 60” and is in very good condition with creasing, faint discoloration, and small tears on parts of the white edges from previous handling. The largest tear on the left side of the top edge barely enters the image. The poster has never been folded. Forty by sixty posters were printed on heavier paper stock compared to one-sheet posters.
