This is an original French moyenne movie poster from 1971 for the Russian World War II drama Liberation (known as Osvobozhdenie in Russia). The epic eight hour film, released in several parts and over the course of three years in the Soviet Union, stars Nikolai Olyalin, Larisa Golubkina, Boris Zajdenberg, Sergei Nikonenko, and Vsevolod Sanayev. The film was edited down to two hours and the United States as The Great Battle in 1974). The art for the poster was created by Vlassak and Kaouza.
The poster measures 22.5" x 31" and is in very good condition with minor surface wear around the edges of the poster. The poster was originally folded but has been stored flat for many years. It will be shipped in a rigid tube mailer.
