This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1985 for the British documentary 28 Up. The film, directed by Michael Apted, is part of a remarkable series of films profiling the same group of 14 people, every 7 years, since the age of 7. The first film in the series was Seven Up! in 1964. It was followed by 7 Plus Seven in 1970, 21 Up in 1977, 28 Up in 1984, 35 Up in 1991, 42 Up in 1998, 49 Up in 2005, and 56 Up in 2012.
The initial films were television documentaries and the later films have been released theatrically as well as shown on television. This poster is from the initial theatrical release of 28 Up. It features Bruce Balden, Jacqueline Bassett, Symon Basterfield, Andrew Brackfield and John Brisby.
This poster measures 25" x 38" (it has not been trimmed) and is in good to very good condition. It has two tiny tears in the top and bottom edge. Like most one-sheet posters printed before 1990, this poster was folded before being shipped to a movie theater. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo. The small, black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins. This collectible poster, printed in 1985 to promote the theatrical release of 28 Up, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
