    War of the Worlds (1953)

    • This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1965 for a theatrical re-release of The War of the Worlds starring Gene Barry, Ann Robinson, Les Tremayne, Robert Cornthwaite, Lewis Martin, and Ann Codee.  Byron Haskin directed the classic science fiction film based on the novel by H.G. Wells.

The poster for this limited, 1965 release was printed in very small numbers and is highly prized by collectors due to the vibrant artwork that features the trademark, alien crafts from the film (which were not shown on the original one-sheet poster).

The poster measures 27” x 41” and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. Prior to restoration, the poster was in very good condition with some spots of minor edge and fold wear. It was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.

Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small, black circles in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.

This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1965 to promote a theatrical re-release of The War of the Worlds, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
