This is an original, English six-sheet movie poster from 1926 for Wasted Lives starring Elliott Dexter, Cullen Landis, Edith Roberts, Betty Francisco, and Henry Hull. John Gorman directed the silent, romantic drama. Edith Roberts plays a "tomboy" nicknamed Tommy who, after the death of her brother, is shunned by her neighbors after wearing overalls to a party. She moves away but a handsome neighbor tracks her down and they fall in love.
The film was released in the United Kingdom on May 24, 1926 and this poster was printed to promote that release.
Referred to in the UK as a twelve sheet (as it is roughly twelve times the size of a British double crown poster), it measures 78.5" x 88" and is in good to very good condition for a poster of this size and age. It was printed in four sections designed to overlap. The poster has several creases, smudges, tiny tears on a few fold lines, and some small tears at a few of the cross-folds. The poster was folded at the time of printing in 1926. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you will receive). The small black squares in the corners and sides of the photo are magnets to hold the poster down and are not pins.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1926 to promote the British theatrical release of Wasted Lives, is not a reproduction a reprint.
