This is an original, half-sheet movie poster from 1959 for Francois Truffaut's The 400 Blows starring Jean-Pierre Leaud, Claire Maurier, Albert Remy, Guy Decomble, Georges Flamant, and Patrick Auffay. Francois Truffaut directed the film that was released in France as Les Quatre Cents Coups. The film had a limited art-house theater release in the United States in 1959 and this poster is from that release.
The poster measures 22"x 28" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in good to very good condition prior to restoration with some tiny paper loss in three of the corners and some minor surface smudges and wear. The poster was folded in half at the time of printing but the fold line is less noticeable after backing. The poster has been stored flat for many years and will be rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not a stock image.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1959 to promote the limited, initial theatrical release of The 400 Blows, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
